2001 Indian Scout

This is the first production run of Indian motorcycles after the Indian motorcycle company was reformed based on the original company that began in 1901. The reformed company bought the rights to the Indian name and design after a lengthy court battle with a computing builder who attempted to pirate the name and logo. There was a great deal of interest in the new company as an alternative to Harley-Davidson. The engine and transmission S&S. Indian did not make its own engines until much later. The original owner took delivery of this motorcycle on December 24th 2000. The odometer has 981 miles on it. The speedometer was replaced in 2004 after the original broke. The old speedometer was lost with about 1100 miles on it in a move some time since then. The bike has been ridden no more than 2200 miles. This beautiful motorcycle has only been ridden on weekends and taken to car shows and cruises. It has been garaged and covered for its entire life.
